Meme - 7 Random Things About Me

Exnat tagged everybody who reads his blog to complete this meme.  Well, okay.  Here goes… 7 random things about me.

1.  I make pasta by hand - I refuse to buy it, and if I do it’s very rare.

2.  When I was a little girl I wanted to be a waitress and a singer when I grew up.  I am neither of those now. CORRECTION - I sing in a rythm & blues band from time to time, called Loose Change.  I almost forgot about that!

3.  Tango -I feel uncomfortable dancing with women and would prefer not to, especially at milongas, but sometimes I do it at practicas just to see if maybe it’s not that bad, but honestly I just can’t feel it.  I can’t dance with someone I don’t feel connected too.  Tango is romantic for me.  That said, I don’t mind when other women dance together - hey, if you like dancing with someone you should dance with them. 

4.  I have the song “Se” by Le Vibrazioni stuck in my head right now.  It’s one of my favorite songs.  I like listening to music that brings me back to a certain place and time.  This particular song brings me to a sunny winter morning in my kitchen in Perugia, Italy, with my French roommate Camille… we would wake up late and watch Italian MTV together so we could sing along while eating breakfast. 

5. Other than those fun times in Italy with Camille, I don’t watch TV.  In Italy I sometimes watch it just because it’s so bad, and really good for my Italian.

6. I’m going to wear a strapless dress and red shoes at the all-night milonga this Saturday night, which is part of the Tango Magic Festival in Seattle.

7.  This was hard for me to write because for whatever reason today I’m thinking in Italian.  Not conducive to writing in English without some difficulty.
