People in Seattle are really funny about helping each other or even becoming friends, but that's another story. Maybe I'm just still used to living in Italy where friends help each other without even thinking. I get lonely in this town sometimes. BUT, I know not everyone is like that... I have some good people in my life here who I appreciate a lot and who I hope I can help someday too - and if they are reading this I hope they know who they are!!! In fact, I actually got a nice e-mail from a friend after writing this, telling me that I could ask him for a ride home, which I thought was very sweet. So there ya go! :-) Good people exist everywhere. Here's a weird story: once, a guy at the milonga who I don't know very well saw me calling a taxi, and he asked me where I lived. I told him, he hemmed and hawed, and asked me how much the cab ride cost. I said, Eh, usually $10. he said, "oh, never mind then. If it cost more like $20 I'd have given you a ride. But $10 isn't that much, you can afford that." It confused me. First of all, I never asked him for a ride, and second of all, maybe $10 isn't a lot for HIM, but it's a decent amount of money for other people... Thanks for your support, ladies! :-)
