La Tanguera wrote a beautiful post about what she feels Tango Bliss is. It’s so nice that I read it five times - and you should too.
I was thinking about what my own Tango Bliss is… I think it’s that moment when I realize that I’m actually sharing a breath with my partner. That little moment when we have melded souls and I can’t tell who is breathing - is it me or him? That instant when I realize that we are dancing as one. Tango bliss is a sigh… three minutes of falling graciously in love with my partner, the rhythm, our breath… The knowledge that I am protected by him and that nothing can happen to me as long as I’m in his arms.
This further justifies what Miss Tango told me one fine Thursday at Club Español: “Why Tina, you have a…. rather climactic look on your face when you dance - that’s why the men are inviting you to dance so much today.” (quote edited because some of my relatives read this blog) Or something like that. ;) I promised I’d quote her on that eventually, so there it is. Promise fulfilled.
Back to Tango Bliss - it’s also mostly, as La Tanguera said, swimming in a sea of Comme il Faut shoes.
God I love Tango.

I thought it was the pugliese quote, but you said it.
and then there was the other discussion about money pouches…he he he!
Oh yeah! What was the Pugliese quote anyway? Racking my brain… (the things women talk about when they’re not dancing - sheesh!)
Dear Tina,
Thanks so much for this–love your post, too (as always, so romantic and thoughtful) and I’m so glad you liked mine (you’re very kind).
I’m dying to know that exact quote… hmmm
