What is NaBloPoMo you ask? It’s National Blog Posting Month! I have committed to write a blog post every day for the month of November. I’m only half-convinced that I can do it, but we’ll see how far this goes. ;-) I’m a day late in joining but that’s ok. It’s the thought that counts.

I suppose I have to write now.

Well, as you know I’m moving in four days. This house has been great but the energy has changed and I think I’m too old and boring for the people in it. I came home from Cachirulo last night at about 3:00 am, and my roommates and some friends were just leaving to go to a party. They were jolly and probably a bit stoned and it was nice to see them having fun. They tried to persuade me to come to the party with them but at the age of 31 and being dressed the way I was (strapless dress with flipflops, tango shoes in hand) and having danced in high heels for 6 hours straight, it just didn’t seem appealing. They went on their way and I went to bed.
I woke up at 9 am because I have a translation that I need to finish up (see me working so hard?) and that is when they were coming home. It was fun to chat with them as they cleaned up the kitchen from the night before, preparing for bed while I made my coffee and toast to prepare for my day. Apparently I had missed quite the party, but ay me, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it. When all people are doing is drinking and listening to very loud music with no discernible melody or rhythm, I feel stranded. For me a good party should have either tango (or other beautiful music for dancing), dinner, wine and cheese, or properly made martinis. One of those four things. Or all of the above.
I think it’s great that the people in my house had a good time and I was happy to see them in the morning looking content, but I’m really glad I didn’t go. I wonder if they think I’m totally boring.

OK, as a 32-year-old, I’m impressed that you were even awake at 3 am, and then again by 9 am
ah, that’s the life of a milonguera. Actually I only dance tango once or twice a week, so on Saturdays I dance and dance and dance to make up for my non-tango days.
But I say, better to have a night of little sleep due to a cultural activity, than a wild party.
Nah, not too boring or too old. You just live a different lifestyle from them.
Does it matter what they think, as long as you’re happy?
For me, fun is an exchange of information. Not blocking out my thoughts and dulling my emotions with noise and potions
Yeah, I’d say that if you were up until 3:00, you’re a rock star in my book.
E. and I finally went down to Puerto Madero at night on Saturday. At 9:30 p.m. we were wondering, “Why are these restaurants empty?” And then we wondered, “Why are there so many babies awake with their parents at midnight”? What a life!
Yeah, you are so old…time for you to take up knitting I think!
My dear, you were up till 3 a.m. I’m lucky if I make past 9 P.M. on a worknight! I admire that you are able to party like a rockstar. Talk about taking up knitting…that’s me and my little domestic life out here in Arizona!! haha!
I wasn’t really partying, but I’m glad you think I’m a rockstar!
