Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and though I didn’t go to any dinners, since it was just another day in Italy (instead I was translating 4000 words), I certainly did give a thought to all I have to be grateful for.
I went through quite a lot this year! And looking back at all that has gone on the past few years up to this point, I am silently in awe. I’ve come around to where I’ve always wanted to be (Italy!), and I’m hopefully about to move into my own apartment after three years of moving around and sharing (I’ll know what’s going on today – keep your fingers crossed that it goes well!), I’ve lost a ton of weight while eating lots of gorgeous food (thank you, Umbrian hills!), and wonderful new people are coming into my life. I’m being reborn, and my life is regaining stability and normality. For the first time in a long time. Things are good. I have a lot to be thankful for.
One exciting thing is that now that it’s the day after Thanksgiving, I officially get to think about Christmas! I’m posting my favorite modern Christmas song, in celebration. And did you notice that it’s snowing on my blog?
(For the record, I will be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow – Saturday – at Basiliko‘!)
