Well, people will take their time if they can, but they'll still take their coffee standing up, as to sit down and get table service you have to pay extra. It is quite lovely, I must admit, to get a quick, last-minute shot of caffeine on my way somewhere. Italians are definitely caffeine addicts. ;-) The part of the day that is a lot more slow and savored is the aperitivo after work. ;-) That's always fun because there are usually tons of free snacks all along the bar!
