I've gotten used to paying $1.25 when I take the bus in BsAs. Glad I live walking distance to my favorite milongas. The subte was 60 centavos, and the bus was 70 centavos in 1999. The city still has one of the cheapest transportation systems in South America. If only they could find a way to implement fare cards on buses!!!
