Nice, relaxing day yesterday. Slept in, took a walk, went grocery shopping, ate lunch on my balcony, did a little bit of work. Then it was girls night out for me and Miss Tango. We met for pizza and dancing. She was all gorgeous in her new green dress that Mr. Tango gave her for Christmas, and I wore my basic black dress. We went to Maipu 444. It was packed when we arrived, but we didn’t have to wait for a seat.
Comme il Faut shoes on our feet, a bottle of champagne on our table, and we were ready to dance. We were not in the best spot to see or be seen, but someone I’ve danced with at a couple of other milongas recognized me right away and invited me to dance. He was juuuuuuust the right person to start with. All nice and comfy. No problem getting dances after that. This was a really nice milonga, full of people and good music.
It was SOOO nice to be out with Miss Tango again, so nice to sit with a friend at a milonga. Since she’s been busy having a baby, she hasn’t gone out to dance, so we definitely seized the opportunity to catch up and be the adorable, fun chicas that we are. The champagne went to my head and I must have talked her ear off, but what fun we had. Time flew by and before we knew it, it was time to go home. I walked with her to the bus stop and from there I got a cab home.
I slept in again today and right now I can hear church bells outside. It’s slightly cool and breezy. Sunday weather. I’m eating strawberries and yogurt and drinking coffee. I’m not sure what I’ll do today - I haven’t been so inclined to do touristy things at this point, but I will, soon enough. I’m just really enjoying relaxing here, getting to know this neighborhood, being glad I’m here, seeing my friends, dancing.
