It’s 36C today (which is 96.8F) and this poem popped into my head today by Shel Silverstein:
It’s Hot
by Shel SilversteinIt’s hot!
I can’t get cool,
I’ve drunk a quart of lemonade,
I think I’ll take my shoes off
And sit around in the shade. It’s hot!
My back is sticky,
The sweat rolls down my chin.
I think I’ll take my clothes off
And sit around in my skin. It’s hot!
I’ve tried with ‘lectric fans,
And pools and ice cream cones.
I think I’ll take my skin off
And sit around in my bones. It’s still hot!

haha! Shell Silverstein was one of my favorites growing up (still is!)
there’s always gelato!
I love Shel Silverstein! I almost bought a book of his poems for my niece for Christmas. I still have “A Light in the Attic” and “Where the Sidewalk Ends” on my bookshelf. I always tease Eric when he doesn’t take out the garbage and tell him it reminds me of the poem “Sarah Sylvia Cynthia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out”.
